Hello all!
A final update for this fundraising effort: It’s unlikely that this trip will go ahead in February after all, as non-essential volunteers/travellers will put undue stress on the World Vision crew in Nepal.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for giving your finances with generous hearts! I believe I’ve already spoken to every one who donated (apologies if I’ve missed you out!), and with your permission, the funds will be used in the Nepal earthquake relief effort.
One of my favourite quotes on travel: "For all the amazing experiences that await you in distant lands, the meaningful part of travel always starts at home, with a personal investment in the wonders to come.” This trip hasn’t come to fruition after undergoing many changes in plans over the past 3 years, but it has changed my worldview nonetheless - that gestation period when I buckled down to make plans, squirrelling away every dollar in a travel fund, having lengthy conversations about social change with peers. I appreciated every minute of it.
Thanks again for your amazing support. I’m glad we could make some sort of difference to the lovely people of Nepal.
xo
