Everest Base Camp: World Vision Trek for Women

LOVE GOD. LOVE PEOPLE. DO STUFF. 
I love these 3 simple things to live by. 

SO, I'M ROLLING THEM ALL INTO AN ADVENTURE WITH TEAM WORLD VISION – trekking to Everest Base Camp –  to raise vital funds for their work in Jumla, Nepal. 

Jumla is a remote rural area of mid-west Nepal. Life expectancy is 20 YEARS less than Australia and infant mortality is amongst the worst in Asia. In such areas, there are no roads connecting villages, which means there is high maternal and infant mortality from lack of access to safe delivery.

Since the arrival of my precious niece, I reframe everything in terms of her wellbeing and I couldn't imagine her not having the best start in life. When I think of all the incredible facilities afforded her at birth, I can't believe in Nepal women in labour have to WALK for hours to the nearest clinic, and even with safe delivery, both mother and child health can be severely compromised from lack of nutrition or malaria, diarrhoea and pneumonia - all completely preventable issues.

ADVOCATING FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN is at the forefront of World Vision's global health and poverty alleviation strategy. 

WORLD VISION IN NEPAL:
– Focuses on early childhood education and development
– Supports projects that focus on improved maternal and child health care  
– Gives access to safe water and sanitation 
– Helps people access small loans to encourage the development of small enterprises

I’ve realised talking to many of you, that we all have the same heart: To advocate for justice and to move the dial for those that are caught in the cycle of poverty. But sometimes we don’t know where to start.
